Ride Buddy
Ride Buddy plans your route, rides along with you and helps when plans change. It is for people who ride for the journey: weekend riders, bikepackers, cycle tourists and motorbike travellers.
Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
Before the ride
Planning a long ride can take longer than riding it. Ride Buddy does the groundwork and leaves the decisions to you.
- Plan from a few words. Say how far you want to go and the places you would like to pass through, and Ride Buddy draws a route.
- Bring your own GPX file. Import a route. Ride Buddy checks it, adds food and water stops, and changes it when you ask.
- Fly over it first. Follow the route over satellite imagery to spot gravel, busy roads or a missing bridge before you set off.
- Split it into days. Break a long trip into daily stages, with suggestions for where to stop each night.
- Send it to your devices. Put the finished route on your bike computer or in the map app you already use.
On the ride
Ask a question and get an answer that knows where you are and where you are going.
- What is ahead. The next café, water tap or bike shop, the climb after the village, the weather where you will be in an hour.
- Updates when you want them. A regular check-in, or one message at the moment you care about, such as ten kilometres before the ferry.
- A new route when you need one. Road closed, or legs gone? Ask for another way, and the new route goes to your devices.
- Help with the logistics. Find a train home, a room for the night or a way round a closed road.
- Directions. Turn-by-turn navigation, with the stops and warnings that matter to your ride marked on the map.
After the ride
The ride is over. The story is not.
- Relive it. Fly over the route you actually rode, and share it with the people who waited for your messages.
- Keep the record. Upload the ride to the services where you keep your rides.
- Learn from it. See distance, climbing and time, and note what to change next time.
